- When and where are team practices?
- Immediately after the teams are formed each manager will notify you of the first pre-season practice date, time and place, as well as all subsequent practices until the season begins.
Be aware that once the season begins practice times and venues can change.
- How long does the regular season last?
- LCB's Spring season begins on Opening Day, typically
the last Saturday in Feburary or the first Saturday in
March of each year. Depending on the age-level league,
regular season games will end in the first week of May.
Each team will play between 16 and 18 regular season
games. This can vary depending on how many teams are
formed in each league and schedule balancing. LCB Buddy
Ball will play fewer games. LCB's Fall
seasons typically have two weeks of pre-season practices
then 5 or 6 weeks of games.
- What happens after the regular season ends?
- After the regular Spring seasons end there's still a lot of baseball to be played. Shortly after the last regular season game,
the LCB Tournaments begin for each age-level league
(except Tee Ball, Coach Pitch and LCB Buddy Ball). Champions and runners-up are awarded
trophies or medals. After that there are numerous
opportunities for area tournaments for Training, Minor
and Major League. Tee Ball, Coach Pitch and LCB Buddy
Ball's seasons end at the
conclusion of the regular season games. Once the Fall
seasons end we give everyone a break for
Thanksgiving and Christmas!
- Do we play Spring Break?
- LCB does not schedule regular season games during Spring Break to allow families to spend that time together. Please be aware that Tee
Ball through Minor League DO have games scheduled the
Saturday of the weekend before the Spring Break week, and,
with the exception of Tee Ball and Coach Pitch, those could be division games that count towards the season standings. Please plan on having your players at those games.
- What are the game time limits?
- Our rules dictate that Tee Ball and Coach Pitch
games are expected to be about 75 minutes in length. For
Training, Minor and Major League (in the Spring
seasons) no new inning will
begin after 90 minutes of play or 6 innings. Junior
League will have no new inning start after 120 minutes
of play or 7 innings. At his or her discretion, the
umpire will end the game based on the league's
guidelines. LCB Buddy Ball's game lengths can vary.
In the Fall seasons, for Training, Minor, Major
and Junior League, when the game reaches its allotted
time length, the umpire will call "last batter" and the
game will end when that batter is out or reaches base.
